Graduate Researcher

Molecular Dynamics and Parameterized Simulations

University at Albany (SUNY)
Chemistry Dept. and The RNA Institute

Crafted physics-informed parameterized models and custom software tools to simulate biological and chemical dynamics, collaborating directly with experimental research teams in materials chemistry, organic synthesis, and structural biology laboratories.

Experienced in force-field development, free-energy simulations, and nucleic acid molecular dynamics.

August 2014 – June 2017

Teaching Assistant

Undergraduate Physics Courses

University at Albany (SUNY)
Physics Department

Taught undergraduate physics lab and recitation sections, working independently with minimal oversight to deliver hands-on instruction and managing assessments for up to 70 students per semester.

About me

I’m Chris Myers, a computational scientist passionate about turning complex problems in quantum chemistry, molecular dynamics, and high-performance computing into practical, elegant solutions. My work has spanned developing GPU-accelerated simulations, integrating AI/ML into scientific workflows, and managing large-scale computing programs at the Department of Energy.

I also have a background in force field development for MD simulations of nucleic acids and other large biomolecules, as well as experience working with a variety of experimental groups in mass spectrometry, polymer chemistry, and various flavors of spectroscopy. I also enjoy public speaking and have experience teaching at universities, presenting at scientific conferences, and leading coding tutorials.
